you know me
This blogger has moved on (or rather, been made to move on, but anyway).
For those of you who followed her here from Livejournal, kindly head back that way, cause old is comforting and I have returned to my Livejournal for now.
Thank you for reading.
Love and peace.

but suddenly now, i know where i belong
A tiny mix tape. This past week has been about being sick, tired, overworked, and being disappointed at several levels. But on the other hand, it has been about wonderful, beautiful music that I want to share with you all. So enjoy, and drop a comment if there's a song you liked; these songs mean so much to me. (As you can probably tell, music is one of the most important parts of my life.)
Nothing at all in my head to say to you
Only the beat of the train I’m on
Nothing I’ve learnt all my life on the way to you
One day our love was over and gone
Only the beat of the train I’m on
Nothing I’ve learnt all my life on the way to you
One day our love was over and gone
It’s so many miles and so long since I’ve met you
Don’t even know what I’ll say when I get to you
But suddenly now, I know where I belong
It’s many hundred miles and it won’t be long
(This was incidentally the first Scout song I ever heard. And I rediscovered it this week thanks to this incredible compilation album.)
Don’t you know just to play with what you’re given?
Don’t you know just to play with what you’re given?
Can’t take her for the only one to believe in
Wet road, paradise, wet roads today
Wet roads on the way to your house again
(This song is one of the most intense things I've listened to in a while. It's an eight-minute-long heartwrencher.)
And there’s plenty of ways to claim his crimes tonight,
and there’s plenty of things to do on his dime.
And there’s plenty of ways to wear his hide tonight.
You’ve got yours and I’ve got mine. So why did you flee?
Don’t you know you can’t leave his control, only call all his wild works your own?
So come back and we’ll take them all on.
So come back to your life on the lam.
So come back to your old black sheep man.
(A beautiful version of that haunting song.)
Wanderers this morning came by
Where did they go
Graceful in the morning light
To banner fair
To banner fair
To follow you softly
In the cold mountain air
Through the forest
Down to your grave
Where the birds wait
And the tall grasses wave
They do not
know you anymore
(I cannot explain to you how much this song means to me. It was one of the most important songs of my life in 2007.)
He fell on his sword
Not two years ago today
And if you haven't noticed
Been waitin' for you to take me away
If nothin' warrants nothin'
I'll gladly give you away
For every goddamned moment
There's something of mine that gets in the way
It's all in the movies I've seen
It's all in the movies I've seen
Not two years ago today
And if you haven't noticed
Been waitin' for you to take me away
If nothin' warrants nothin'
I'll gladly give you away
For every goddamned moment
There's something of mine that gets in the way
It's all in the movies I've seen
It's all in the movies I've seen
(Coming soon: Some more of my old rediscovered favourites, some new loves, and a book or two that I must share. Love.)
